A big thanks to the Mesquite Public Library for hosting our event in celebration of National Cowboy Poetry Week and National Poetry Month. We love the crew there; they are always accommodating and ready to go! If you haven't been to your local public library lately, you might want to check out all the ways you can read, learn, participate, research, or attend one of the many events they host. You can check out the Mesquite Library through the Clark County page at Las Vegas-Clark County Library District (thelibrarydistrict.org).
Our special guest for the evening was local cowboy poet, Derek Hafen. Derek did not disappoint! He made us laugh, he made us cry, and he made us willing (or maybe in some cases, unwilling) participants in a poem recitation. Robin Arnold made beautiful Western Music and included our crowd in a sing-along. Jim, Kathy, and Russ entertained with a variety of old classics and poems that these local poets have written.
Thanks to everyone that attended this event. For upcoming events check out the Event page here at mesquitewesternpoets.com. If you click on the RSVP button on an event, you can create a reminder to be emailed to you as well as any updates about the event. Try it! It's a great way to get a reminder so you don't forget.
